Alessandro is the third generation in his family to dedicate himself to light in a space.
His grandfather founded Arteluce in 1939, his parents Luceplan in 1978.
With his company Astep, based in Copenhagen, Sarfatti wants to build a bridge between the old and the new. He considers good design to be timeless: His collection consists of old and new designs, all of which are state of the art in terms of the technology used and their sustainability.
The Model 2050 seen in the image is from 1963, designed by Franco Albini and Franca Helg, reimagined with a sensibly balanced LED-technology and a shade of 100% recycled, patented
