Office Desk by Bodil Kjaer
In the man’s world of Danish Midcentury-design, Bodil Kjaer was the female spearhead. Inspired by the designs of Charles and Ray Eames, the now 91-year old has made it her mission to design functional furniture. This is why Kjaer spoke with young managers about their day-to-day before taking to the drawing board.
“Open, creative and flexible” is what the new generation was looking for. Kjaer’s result was a modern, almost airy desk, which renounced an overt display of power – a gorgeous embodiment of the Zeitgeist.
Seen in three James Bond films, Bodil Kjaer’s Office Desk was available only at collectors’ auctions for the longest time. Since 2018, the Danish manufacturer Karakter has included it in their product range.
We are proud to present this movie star – not including the villainous Ernst Stavro Blofeld with a white cat on his lap.
The Office Desk is available in lacquered oak and walnut and a frame in powder-lacquered grey or red as well as brushed steel.
