The development of Finn Juhl’s Chieftain Sofa went hand in hand with the development of the Chieftain Chair, the exquisite seat which gave Finn Juhl the epithet of Father of Danish Design.
While the Chieftain Chair went into production, the Double Chieftain was kept around as a prototype, just like Juhl had presented it at the Copenhagen Cabinetmaker’s Guild fair in 1949. This model is still on exhibition in the Design Museum Danmark today.
One Collection reintroduced the sofa in 2012 and now offers this rare, spectacular piece in a variety of leathers with a walnut frame.
