ANT™
Originally, Arne Jacobsen designed the Ant™ Chair when he did the overall design for the canteen at Novo Nordisk, a Danish pharmaceutical company. Today, the Ant™ Chair is one of the most prominent pieces from that collection, despite the fact that it seemed its fate as a prototype was sealed as Fritz Hansen was not convinced by its potential. The chair survived the initial skepticism, when Arne Jacobsen himself vouched to buy all of the unsold chairs – a promise he never had to follow through with, as the Ant™ Chair is graceful and quite comfortable at the same time.
The Ant™ Chair is a stackable, wooden chair with a chromium-plated frame, and is available in a three-legged or four-legged version. It is available in two different heights, as well as in a lacquered or colored surface in white or black. Furthermore ten different veneer options are available.
