Nyhavn Desk
Throughout the course of his life, Finn Juhl developed a broad spectrum of steel tube framed furniture. This approach was also his starting point in designing desks for his studio in number 33 Nyhavn, Copenhagen.
The drawer unit was designed in 1953 as an add-on to Juhl’s 1945 Nyhavn Table and floats seemingly without any support underneath the steel frame of the table. This is thanks to Juhl’s principle of separating the single elements of one piece.
Just like Juhl’s Side Board, the drawer unit is also available in an orange or blue color scheme. Its legs are made of burnished steel or may be lacquered in light blue or orange. The table top is available in walnut, teak, oak, Oregon Pine and linoleum.
