The artist Giorgio de Chirico, the idea provider for surrealism, creates empty spaces full of suspense – and takes away some of the austerity of one of his paintings by placing an artichoke in front of a gun barrel. Poul Henningsen’s legendary Artichoke Lamp, too, manages to dictate the atmosphere of the room it is in – with its regal grace, its captivating beauty and a iridescent shell of 72 scales.
The PH Artichoke is available in two sizes, made from copper or white lacquered stainless steel. Furthermore, a version of the PH Artichoke with glass scales has been made available in 2018. With its precisely angled scales, it radiates a glare-free, symmetrical, and diffuse light, which is decorative and cozy at the same time.
